So, The Raider. In Synthetik 1 I loved playing essentially every single class with Guardians being my least favorite and Commandos being why I played the game at all (rogues second fav, specialists third). Heavy Gunner was my first main but after getting much better at the game Raider became a new favorite of mine and I think encapsulates why Synthetik 1 was so good and what I really think Synthetik 2 is lacking, at least at the moment. On paper, Raider is just a good high-mobility scrapper. Has a POWERFUL melee (which Grenadier has too, but it's both nowhere as snappy, powerful, or reliable), increased movement accuracy, two invulnerability dashes, and occasionally gets dogtag drops that refreshes your shield so you can keep fighting. Cool kit but nothing super remarkable. But then you read between the lines a little bit and notice their "Looter" passive. Collecting or combo-ing item pickups increases your firing rate and scavenging chance. So, essentially, the faster you kill and the faster you get pickups, the more pickups and money you get. This combos well with "Madness", a side perk you can get that increases credit gain by 15% for each kill you get in a row within 5 seconds of each other. So I developed what I call the "Roderick's Instant Coffee" gameplay style. How does it work? Well you can start slow at first, but the MOMENT you get a kill, YOU KEEP KILLING. You do not STOP killing, and you retain your combo of Madness and Looter for the entire duration of the floor, EVERY floor. You use your Nippon-steel dagger to kill or finish off anything near you, you agro large groups of enemies so you can lure them into an H-Bomb, and you KEEP FIRING until the entire floor is eradicated while CONSTANTLY picking up whatever they drop and strategically opening boxes to keep your looter combo going as long as possible. Much like the mocha latte 'instant coffee' Roderick Heffley injects straight into his heart to be either fully caffeinated or dead within the same minute, as a Raider you either end the first floor with 3000 credits or you die within 30 seconds of starting the run, there is no other result. This gameplay style is what I think Synthetik 2 is lacking the most right now, at least for me. The pure, insane, adrenaline fueled nightmare of shooting up an entire floor at mach speed with the constant reward of extra upgrade kits and cold hard cash with the downside of playing like this being the risk of instant death and not being a millionaire by the end of the first room. I don't just want the tools to be in the middle of the danger zone between 20 pissed off androids, I want the INSENTIVE. I want that grit, that game bread, that moola, THE CASH!!! I want to SWIM IN REWARDS for playing like AN IDIOT and somehow WINNING!!! This sort of gameplay can be put on any character, but Raider is the one I think of when I think "bum-rush everything, get money, think of a plan halfway in". Also, the Raider and Heavy Gunner were green, that also helped. I really like the color Green. Blue does not jive with me. Please consider when adding to Synthetik 2. Thank you uwu.
